In 2022 I retired after a long career in tech due to unforeseen health issues.  I wrote down my retirement goals, and one of them was to get back into music, both playing and recording.  I was originally a music major, but changed to engineering after seeing many other musicians who had "God-level" of talent, so coming back to music is a circle-back moment in life for me.
I then started to work toward an AA degree in Music Technology from Foothill College, and graduated in 2025 with the highest honors.  During that time at Foothill I met a number of music majors, and recorded their auditions for their college application.   I would only charge a cup of coffee for the recording session; thus, the "Recording For Coffee" moniker of my recording service.  I continue to do this as I feel this is one of my higher purposes in life ("while I'm still above ground," as many of my senior friends would say!) is to help out the "young guns" in their journey, whether it is through music or whatever else.
The students whose auditions that I have recorded now attend UCLA, Berklee School of Music, and University of the Pacific as a music or music related major.  Makes me both happy and proud of their accomplishment.
